Mitsubishi Outlander SUV For 2022 Revealed
With its venerable Pajero now retired, Mitsubishi is counting on its flagship Outlander to bring new SUV buyers into its fold. With this aim, the all-new, fourth-generation Mitsubishi Outlander has been unveiled significant styling and engineering updates.
In terms of styling, the new Outlander debuts the brand's ‘Dynamic Shield’ front face and design language, with beefier fenders, a bolder stance and available 20-inch wheels.
Inside, the Outlander gets improved materials and build quality, says Mitsubishi. The SUV comes in three-row, seven-seater configuration as standard.
The dashboard houses a 2.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 9-inch centre screen, and features available include wireless smartphone charging capability with Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay.
Other Mitsubishi Outlander features include a driver assistance system with adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist, semi-aniline leather seating, integrated navigation, a windshield-display 10.8-inch full-color Head-Up Display, and a 10-speaker Bose audio system.
Mitsubishi says the SUV’s engineering underpinnings are also new. Based on a newly developed platform and powered by a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine, the Outlander gets Mitsubishi's rally-derived Super All-Wheel Control system. This means it’s capable of tackling different environments with relative ease.
A drive mode selector allows performance and grip to be tailored to the conditions through six different settings, increasing on-road and off-road performance. Even two-wheel drive models are fitted with the drive-mode selector.
The new Mitsubishi Outlander goes on sale in North America this month (April 2021) and hopefully, we’ll see it at Group 1 Mitsubishi in South Africa soon too!
